Made in fairly limited numbers during the first few decades of the twentieth century, mens wristwatches did not receive widespread acceptance when first introduced. That changed with the eruption of World War I. In response to the need for Allied servicemen to have a more suitable way to access their vital timepieces, Swiss watchmakers created the first more widely used wrist-worn watches.

One of the few, prominent Swiss watchmakers who supplied the Allies with war-time wristwatches was Omega Watch Co., and they continued to build these officer style watches after the war.

Today's offering features one of these Omega watches. The silver dial with wonderful Art Deco style numbers is clean with previously updated luminous. The sterling silver case with its hinged lugs is better than excellent condition. The original rhodiumed Omega movement is clean, serviced previously a number of years ago by one of our watchmakers.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a vintage styled black grosgrain strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a 90-day international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
